| Board
of Academic Advisers (BAA)
For high quality academic development, The Postgraduate School of Credit & Financial Management has in place, “Board of Academic Advisers” (BAA). The BAA board members are individuals, serving without monetary reward. Their responsibilities include providing advice on developing and updating PSCFM’s syllabus, and ensuring that the school’s correspondence students are examined to the same standard as students at the PSCFM’s classrooms.
Examination Board
This Board is responsible for the marking of student examination scripts. Members of the Board are drawn from various sectors of commerce and academic industry. The reason for constituting this board is to eliminate corruption and other related examination malpractices with regard to leakage of examination questions and scoring of marks.
PSCFM External Examiner
Having considered the international standard and criteria for appointing an external examiner, PSCFM External Examiner Appointment Committee, appointed
Dr. Salima Paul of the University of the West of England as PSCFM external examiner. The appointment was done based on the following:
- Dr. Salima Paul is an expert in credit management
- Dr. Salima Paul has over 5 years experience as an external examiner.
- Prior to her appointment, Dr. Salima Paul is PSCFM visiting Lecturer. Therefore, she is well-informed about the school’s syllabus and operations.
- PSCFM does not have any other external examiner from the same university with Dr. Salima Paul.
- As at the time of appointment, Dr. Salima Paul does not have more than two external examiners posts
in the U. K.
It is the belief of PSCFM that with the appointment of Dr. Salima Paul as visiting Lecturer and external examiner, quality control in the school will not be a problem.
Authoritative Comments
About PSCFM:
“The Postgraduate School of Credit & Financial Management (formerly Graduate School of Credit Administration) is unique in the sense that it is the first and probably the only institution in Nigeria offering credit management as a specialized programme.
I wish to use this forum, therefore, to urge companies, banks and other financial institutions to send their staff for training in this school. Faculties and schools of management sciences in tertiary institutions should include credit management in their programmes.”
-Prof. S. K. Okwute
Former VC, Kogi State University.
“We are happy at the timely intervention of the Postgraduate School of Credit & Financial Management in its vital contribution to Credit Management training in the Nigerian economy. This, in particular, is a welcome development in view of our recent experimental tour of a virile market economy.”
-Prof. Isiaka Pedro
Dean, National Open University.
